We sat down with one of our fabulous wedding coordinators, Maddie Woodley to discuss being a wedding coordinator, her favourite parts of a wedding and why 41 Portland Place is so perfect for your wedding venue!
1. What is your favourite thing about being a Wedding Coordinator?
I like the excitement with the couples of finding the right venue and organising all the details to suit their tastes and styles to create a special day just for them. When couples get married at 41 Portland Place, I help them with all the planning from beginning to end. I can recommend suppliers and make sure everything runs smoothly and falls into place.
2. What do you think is the main reason that brides and grooms choose 41 Portland Place for their big day?
The venue has beautiful, classic spaces in a great location. The rooms can be dressed up or left in their natural beauty and the spaces still have a wow factor. Plus, having our rooftop terrace for summer weddings is a huge bonus in Central London.
3. What’s your favourite wedding theme that you have seen or helped to organise?
My favourite wedding theme is white on white on white. Completely classic with lots of textures and different styles plus some candlelight to make it extra romantic. I do love hearing all the different idea’s and style’s couple have though, plenty of pin-spriation to aspire too.
4. Favourite wedding flower?
White peonies, white roses and baby’s-breath
5. Any tips for brides when planning their big day?
At the start buy a wedding book and enjoy all the planning, make notes of what’s important to you. In the lead up to the day make sure you triple check the details then completely relax and leave everything in the hands of your experienced coordinator so you can enjoy every moment to the upmost.
6. What is your favourite dish from our wedding menu?
Our pudding wall, why choose one when you can have a selection of 20 mini dessert items. The pannacotta and mousses are my favourite from the wall.
