How to add some festive cheer to your December event

The team at 41 Portland Place have a wealth of event knowledge. Each month we share tips on how to make your event a success.

How to add some festive cheer to your December event

December is a busy month for the events industry with many organisations hosting their AGM’s, Christmas parties and other annual events during the month. Below we have listed some quick tips to add some Christmas spice to your event.

1.       Mince pies

The smell and taste of mince pies always reminds people of Christmas. Why not swap the usual biscuits served with coffee and tea for mince pies? Alternatively you can serve them as dessert at receptions and dinners.

2.       Mulled wine

Nothing evokes the feeling of Christmas more than the smell of mulled wine. If you are organising a meeting, why not add on a short reception aferwards to treat your guests to a nice warm glass of mulled wine,  a great finish to the day. Alternatively you could serve mulled wine as a homely welcome to guests coming for a canapé reception or dinner.

3.       Goodie bags

Festive goodie bags are a great way to give guests a little present to take home to remind them of your event. Ask the venue’s Chef to make a edible ‘goodie’ bag for you. 41 Portland Place’s Head Chef Will Carvalho bakes delicious gingerbread cookies which we can provide wrapped in cellophane and stylish ribbon for around £2.50 / bag. An inexpensive gift for your guests that provides an opportunity for you to attach a Christmas card or festive note.
