Canapéculiar spring/summer menu launch

41 Portland Place hosted the eccentric Canapéculiar event on Thursday the 22nd of March, to celebrate the launch of their quirky new spring and summer menu, and highlight some exciting new venue trimmings in time for the Olympics and another blistering British summer.

Why Canapéculiar?  Well, to answer that, you should try some of this Cumbrian ham with strawberry, or perhaps home-cured and curried salmon, or dark chocolate mousse with fried shallot.  Our imaginative Head Chef, Will Carvalho, skilfully mingled some very curious flavours to entice and flabbergast his delighted guests.

With unusual cocktails on arrival, a selection of gorgeous wines of the house, food stalls set up in events spaces to let the venue strike a pose and show itself off, and H&J’s helpful and friendly cast treating visitors to tasty little oddities; the 75 specially invited guests were enthused by the whole experience.

Alongside sampling the canapéculiarities, our callers got a first glance at the uncanny plans for the events space – such as turf on the terrace emulating the courts of Wimbledon.  The terrace will also host outdoor barbeques, with big screens bringing the Olympics to Pimm’s parties in the sun.

All in all a strangely – but naturally – complete success.
