A daytime conference
The brief
To host a day time conference with 42 attendees for a small London based charity on a very restricted budget.
The 41 Portland Place solution
Anxious to use one of the period rooms, but with the John Newsom Davis Suite being out of their financial reach, our venue team managed to re-set the Laurie Landeau room to accommodate 42 theatre style, from its usual 38. We were then able to offer the charity our fabulous day delegate package at £45 per person. Eager to offer something more exciting than a standard sandwich lunch, we agreed to provide our Healthy sandwich & soup lunch, but reduced the beverage break specifications, from three breaks to two breaks with just homemade biscuits and bites. We were also able to provide the AV they needed for no additional cost.
The food
Soup
Roasted red pepper, tomato & fennel with marjoram, served with crusty bread
Sandwiches
Smoked trout with watercress and creamed horseradish
Cottage cheese, avocado & spring onion
Hummus, chargrilled pepper & baby gem
Beverage breaks
Oaty flapjacks & gluten free chocolate brownie bites
The final verdict
Their annual conference is now booked for May 2011, for 80 people, in the John Newsom Davis Suite and one guest from the event has provisionally booked a dinner for 10 in the Ann Rylands Room.
